FedFleet 2012 and more will be held in Louisville, KY at the Galt House Hotel and Kentucky International Convention Center on June 25-28, 2012.
You may have noticed that we added “and more” to our familiar logo this year. FedFleet 2012 and more continues the FedFleet tradition of growing and improving by including additional related policy areas to expand the educational experience. In addition to all that FedFleet 2012 and more now offers (Motor Vehicles, Aircraft, Watercraft, and Personal Property education), it will now become THE educational event for Transportation Policy and Real Property Policy. The inclusion of the Transportation and Real Property management communities to the FedFleet team enriches the training experience for all attendees, including vendors. By combining essential education, guidance, marketing, and networking opportunities in a single venue, FedFleet 2012 and more is able to provide a quality event for minimal agency costs.
FedFleet 2012 and more is responding directly to the President’s desire to reduce government waste, control expenses, and limit government travel. Because the training provided at FedFleet 2012 and more cannot be made available locally to everyone, Louisville is an excellent site, billing itself as being “a day’s drive from half of the U.S. population” with a moderate cost of living and city pair airfares that were drastically lowered in FY 2012.
Now more than ever, FedFleet 2012 and more continues to be the best use of agency travel and training dollars. FedFleet 2012 and more allows its family of communities to convene with manufacturers, consultants, vendors and partners to explore the best of each other. FedFleet 2012 and more is an efficient, effective forum for sharing best practices, hands-on training and innovation.
FedFleet 2012 and more’s incomparable exhibit hall will also be the site of several vendor panels. Another addition to FedFleet 2012 and more is a computer lab. This year, select presentations will be cybercast via teleconferencing. This is a first step to providing education only provided at FedFleet to others.
Policy Excellence Recognition will be presented during Wednesday’s Lunch at the Convention Center.
June 25 will be a very busy conference day beginning with a full day of aircraft safety course classes. Many agencies will hold meetings that day. There will also be training sessions as well as a UPS Worldport Tour. The day will culminate with the opening of the exhibit hall for all attendees.
Several Federal agencies leverage their FedFleet 2012 and more attendance by holding their own agency meetings in conjunction with the conference, utilizing space provided at no cost during non-conference hours. FedFleet 2012 and more thus affords agencies with the ability to accomplish the majority of their annual training requirements at once. Agency managers have ready access to subject matter experts from GSA to DOE, as well as product/service providers while at FedFleet 2012 and more and often utilize them to enhance the value of their agency meetings.
GSA’s mission is to use expertise to provide innovative solutions for our customers in support of their missions and by doing so, fosters an effective, sustainable, and transparent government for the American people. The ever growing agenda of this year's FedFleet 2012 and more is a collaboration of GSA customer agencies and stakeholders, with GSA’s Office of Asset and Travel Management supplying logistical oversight through an interagency planning committee. Participants in this collaborative effort include the following:
Motor Vehicle Executive Council (MVEC)
Federal Fleet Policy Council
Interagency Committee for Aviation Policy (ICAP)
Government Transportation Policy Council (GTPC)
Property Management Executive Council (PMEC)
Federal Real Property Advisory Group (FRPAG)
Federal Boat Executive Committee (FBEC)
FedFleet 2012 and more utilizes a host of environmentally-friendly practices in conducting the conference. These practices include making speaker handouts and other conference materials available from the conference website, printing conference programs (that incorporate workshop evaluations, notepaper, and the program) with soy inks and water-based coatings on 100% recycled, 50% post-consumer waste paper that is processed chlorine-free and ancient forest friendly, recycling of name badges, and more. The amazing exhibit hall will promote and showcase the latest in alternative fuel vehicles and green products.
Each year FedFleet strives to provide more learning and training opportunities than the year before. FedFleet 2012 and more is no exception and will be even better than last year’s great conference.
